Maroubra Beach House

The brief for this project was to renovate and decorate the second storey addition of an exisiting 1890's house.

Natural finishes were on the table from our very first conversation, with the client wanting earthy and organic materials within a structured, contemporary space. They were keen to keep to a restrained palette as a backdrop for their extensive art collection. Art is given the opportunity to be the hero in each room, with added layers of texture, pattern and patina creating warmth.

Quirky, handmade elements create a sense of whimsy in the space, from collected objects to handmade tiles to artwork acquired from friends and around the world, everything in this home has meaning and a story to tell.
